Exercise Resource List

There are many different forms of exercises that can help you reach your health and fitness goals.

Some forms are more effective than others.

However the most important question to ask is - can you enjoy that form of exercise over the long-term?

For me, I loved playing team sports and gradually built a love for strength training.

Your journey might be completely different.

If you keep experimenting with different forms of exercise, you're bound to fall in love with something that you like.

Remember to take a gradual approach and be patient with any chosen form of exercise.

Key Guiding Principles:

- Short, high intensity bursts of movement are most effective when it comes to weight loss. (Eg. sprinting, weight lifting, dancing and sports.)

- Walking has many physical and mental benefits associated with it and should be incorporated in your daily lifestyle, no matter your fitness level.

- Long periods of medium intensity exercise (eg. jogging, cycling) should be done occasionally unless you really enjoy it.

- In terms of frequency, you should have some form of exercise on a daily basis, and aim for high intensity sessions 3-5x a week (but remember to build this up gradually over time).

- It can take a few weeks before you start mastering and enjoying a specific type of activity.

- Make sure to mix it up and explore different forms of exercise to keep things exciting.
